Environmentally friendly solar power and electric cars are a perfect combination. Because when combined they enable the most ecological form of mobility. "Solar power is also an optimal way to reduce electricity costs in the building and at the same time charge the vehicles with CO2-free electricity," emphasizes Günther Krainer, Managing Director of Auto Krainer GmbH in Klagenfurt. The complete infrastructure was planned by MOON and includes a 108 kWp photovoltaic system. In addition, a power storage system with 150 kWh storage capacity and a charging capacity of 80 kW was put into operation and a 75 kWh DC and 22 kW AC fast charging station was installed. The energy and load management system coordinates the power flows and reduces the remaining power consumption during operation to the absolute minimum.

The 108 kWp photovoltaic system generates around 108,000 kWh annually and reduces the power consumption in the building by up to 60 %. "The surplus solar power is stored in a power storage system from VARTA and delivered to the vehicles very quickly when needed. Electric cars can thus be charged in just a few minutes," explains Rupert Haslinger, project manager at MOON. The overall system consisting of a photovoltaic system and electricity storage enables high charging power without burdening the power grid. This solution is unique to date and makes Autohaus Krainer the most innovative car dealership in Austria.

The overall system consisting of a photovoltaic system (modules from KIOTO Solar and inverters from FRONIUS), fast-charging station, lithium storage and energy management system, impressively demonstrates what the mobility of the future will look like in Austria: environmentally friendly, sustainable and efficient.
