In 2017, Villach basked in 850 hours of sunshine, earning the title of the sunniest city in Carinthia. Just three years later, in the spring of 2020, it proudly boasted one of Austria's most sustainable car dealerships. The automotive industry is changing, this fact can no longer be denied. The fact that this situation also poses major challenges for car dealerships is easily lost in today's media hype. One car dealership that is unimpressed by this is Autohaus Wiegele in Villach. The VW, Audi and Seat dealership has stood for handshake quality and reliable service for decades.

With the help of MOON, 644 photovoltaic modules with a total output of 199.64 kWp were installed. The PV components were set up with a special aluminum construction and weighted and secured against lifting or shifting by means of stone slabs. The optimal angle of inclination of the PV panels differs depending on the compass direction. The service staff conscientiously took this into account and installed the modules accordingly. Thus, the car dealership is expected to produce around 210 MWh* per year. Assuming that an e-car consumes 20 kWh per 100 km, this means green electricity for a range of over 1 million km per year. An impressive value.

From the approval of the building project, to the planning of the project, to the installation of the PV systems, MOON stood by the car dealership Wiegele with advice and support. "Everything from a single source," says Head of MOON Robert Steinböck. "That is the MOON philosophy."
