Not only charging the vehicle, but also unloading it
With bidirectional charging, the electric vehicle is transformed from a pure consumer into an active part of the energy system. It serves as a mobile storage and makes a decisive contribution to tomorrow's energy supply. With the MOON BiDi Charger DC 11, we present our first bidirectional wallbox, which is also available as a variant with a stele. This product has been specially developed to meet the dynamic demands of our time. How we use energy in the future is on the verge of a fundamental revolution, and the vehicle plays a key role in this.
Vehicle-to-Home (V2H)
If the vehicle is also used as a storage, it actively helps to absorb load peaks in the grid. This makes a significant contribution to grid stability and accelerates the expansion of renewable energies. In addition, the self-consumption of your own photovoltaic system can be optimally utilised. On a sunny day, the vehicle charges surplus solar power, and in the evening it supplies the house with clean electricity – for light or e-bikes, for example.
Companies with vehicle fleets also benefit from attractive advantages: Not only can energy costs be reduced, but intelligent energy management (for example with our optiMOON solution) can make the energy supply more independent and stable in general.
In-house brand diversity
The innovative models of the Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Skoda & Cupra brands are already compatible with our BiDi wallbox. Important: The prerequisite for smooth functioning is a software version of 3.5 or higher. This technology works on models with a large battery (from 77 kWh) of the MEB platform.
Flow of electricity in both directions
From the network to the vehicle and from the vehicle back to the network. The BiDi wallbox supports charging and discharging capacities of up to 11 kW.
Cost savings
Take advantage of favourable electricity tariffs and reduce energy costs thanks to intelligent charging control.
PV Integration
Optimized charging with solar power increases the self-consumption of the PV system.
Smart Connectivity
Control via Wi-Fi or Ethernet for more flexibility.
Vehicle-to-Home
Not only draw electricity from the grid, but also give energy back.
Regular updates
Future-proof with continuous, over-the-air software updates.

FAQs
Bidirectional charging means that an electric car can not only absorb electricity from the grid, but also return it – for example to the house (vehicle-to-home). In this way, the vehicle becomes a flexible energy source and supports the supply or grid stability.
Bidirectional charging is only available for electric vehicles based on the MEB platform with a battery capacity of at least 77 kWh and software V.3.5 or higher. To use the bidirectional charging function for your vehicle, the bidirectional charging function must be activated in the charging settings of your vehicle's infotainment system (touchscreen).
This serial number is assigned to your wallbox and can be found as a QR code and as numbers on the outside of each charging station
In most cases, only the serial number of the charger is required. However, in some cases, the HMI serial number may also be required. You can find this serial number in two ways:
- In the System Info section of the sid-OS app or web UI
- On the label, which is somewhere on the front of the HMI.
Yes, the BiDi Charger has been equipped with comprehensive safety features to ensure reliable and safe operation. The charging station has IP55 certification and IK-10 impact resistance, making it ideal for outdoor use as well. In addition, the BiDi-Charger offers protection through DC residual current detection, surge protection and integrated temperature monitoring. This means that it meets the highest safety standards and ensures long-term safe use.
The BiDi Charger is one of the few bidirectional wallboxes on the market and is compatible with the Volkswagen core brands (VW, VW Commercial Vehicles, Skoda, Cupra). It enables easy charging and discharging of the vehicles and thus makes a significant contribution to relieving the power grid in the future.
Yes. that is possible. The charging station has its own HEMS (Home Energy Management) as well as numerous interfaces for third-party providers. The station is compatible with our optiMOON energy management.
Yes, this is possible through the OCCP 2.0.1 interface. We recommend our B-MoRe charging point management for smooth and automated processing.
