At the Audi Used Cars :plus Center in Eching, a high-performance photovoltaic system was planned, implemented and successfully put into operation. With an output of around 1,681 kWp on 7,000 m² of PV space, it is one of the flagship projects within the Company group and makes an active contribution to the decarbonisation of the trade location.

Energy efficiency at the highest level

Intelligent photovoltaic solution on a roof area of 13,500 m² – implemented by MOON POWER Germany in partnership with ENVIRIA.

At the Audi Used Cars :plus Center in Eching near Munich, MOON POWER Germany, together with implementation partner ENVIRIA, has installed one of the largest photovoltaic systems within Porsche Holding. The project is symbolic of the transformation towards energy-efficient trade locations and shows how technological expertise, experience in the automotive trade and sustainable energy generation go hand in hand.

A PV system with an output of 1,681 kWp was installed on a roof area of around 13,500 m². The pure module area is approx. 7,000 m². The plant generates around 1.75 GWh of electricity annually – enough for the annual demand of more than 550 households or to drive a VW ID.7 around 8.75 million kilometres purely electrically.

On peak days, more than 9,180 kWh of solar power is generated – this corresponds to around 120 vehicle charges, the daily consumption of around 1,100 households or over 45,000 kilometres of emission-free mobility.

The annual CO₂ savings amount to approx. 852 tonnes, which makes an important contribution to the climate balance.

With a deep understanding of the industry and technological Know-how, we specialize in combining charging infrastructure, photovoltaic systems and intelligent energy management into holistic energy concepts. The successful implementation at the Audi Used Cars :plus Center in Eching impressively shows how trade locations in the automotive industry can actively contribute to the energy transition.

To realize the project, we worked with ENVIRIA, an experienced commercial and industrial solar company. The combination of technical excellence, operational efficiency and precise planning enabled implementation in the sense of a future-proof, sustainable overall system.

Photovoltaics meets charging infrastructure – intelligently combined

Paralell to the installation of the PV system, a comprehensive charging infrastructure was built as well, which benefits directly from the solar energy generated on site. The generated energy flows into the general electricity requirements of the site as well as into the charging points for customers, employees and internal operations:

  • An AC charging station with two charging points of 11 kW each and a DC fast charger with two charging points of 75 kW each (total output of 150 kW) are available to the public.
  • Internally, the site uses an AC charging station with four charging points of 11 kW each, three AC wallboxes with two charging points of 11 kW each, and three DC wallboxes with one charging point of 22 kW each.

This targeted combination of local self-generated electricity and intelligent charging infrastructure underlines the claim to think and implement sustainable energy solutions holistically. The result is a location that is not only economically efficient, but also ecologically future-oriented.
