Electrifying Heavy-Duty Logistics for Koinè

The new electric trucks connect Sanpellegrino’s production sites with distribution centres in Madone and Levate - covering up to 250,000 km per year across the first two vehicles alone. The project is further strengthened by photovoltaic systems already in place at Koinè’s depots, generating renewable electricity directly on site.

A fully integrated, future-proof charging solution

The MAN eTGX vehicles introduced into Koinè’s fleet (MAN eTGX 20.544 4×2 LL SA EB) feature a 400 kW electric motor and six battery packs with a total usable capacity of 534 kWh, enabling up to 570 km of range on a single charge. Each vehicle is supported by a 5 year service contract and access to MAN DigitalServices, ensuring optimal fleet management and maximum operational uptime.

To ensure fast, reliable, and scalable charging, MOON is providing one of Koinè’s five POWER Charger HYC 400 charging stations. These high-power systems form the backbone of Koinè’s future e-mobility infrastructure, enabling smooth integration of the growing MAN eTGX fleet. Combined with self-produced photovoltaic power, the charging process becomes not only electric, but genuinely sustainable.

A strategic milestone for sustainable logistics

Over the next three years, Koinè plans to electrify up to one-third of its total fleet, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions across the Sanpellegrino logistics network. Industry observers describe the initiative as a new benchmark for low-carbon beverage distribution in Italy.

Thanks to the cooperation between MAN, MOON POWER, and Koinè, the project demonstrates how large-scale logistics can be transformed: through high-range electric trucks, intelligent charging infrastructure, and renewable on-site energy generation working seamlessly as one integrated system.
